I don't actually have such a walkway but I do have a long railing that runs the full length of a large window in the front of our house.
That spot gets a ton of sun exposure and since the stakes are removable I'd leave them off and just secure the lights to the rails using zip ties. I'd probably also add large, green bows to each one..
These remind me of the ornament my kids most loved to put on the tree each year so this set would be a staple in my annual outdoor display.
They are just over 18 inches tall and come as a set of eight strung together and attached to one solar panel.
Each has a pointed stake that you stick in the ground. When they're fully set up the cord allows the set to spread out over a 14 foot distance.
Small bulbs run along the inside of each from top to bottom so you get a nice glow from the white and red stripes.
The star that hangs down from the tip also has a bulb inside.
